Elixir Resort Koh Yao Yai ★★★★

Delightful welcome from all the staff. I had a minor accident earlier that morning and the reception team couldn't have been more helpful or attentive, supplying me with fresh bandages etc. We were shown to our superior villa, which was spotless and beautifully thought through. Every little detail has been thought of, down to rattan bags for pool/ beach, good beach towels and even a re-chargeable torch for use at night. Food is more expensive than local restaurants, but very well executed and delivered by yet more delightful local staff. Breakfast is included and provides a very comprehensive choice , from continental to cooked breakfasts. The beach is stunning and feels empty- absolutely fulfilling the 'paradise island' image. Due to being somewhat immobile, we decided to extend our stay here and were moved to one of their pool villas- private pool, outside bathtub., ENORMOUS private deck with ridiculously comfortable loungers as well as a table and chair. This was a perfect place to observe the local wildlife at dusk- huge, but beautiful bats flying between the trees. We have already decided to book again for next year. This was everything one could hope for as a romantic break... we've been made so welcome. Thank you to all the team.

Beautiful private beach - it was super relaxing to be there. Lots of coral to look at in the ocean in front of the hotel. I loved the staff - so kind and friendly. I appreciated them very much.

Beautiful place, amazing staff

This resort was paradise! We stayed in a villa facing the beach with a private pool, it was so beautiful. Very quiet, great for a relaxing holiday. The room was lovely, really enjoyed the outdoor shower. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Also enjoyed great food, and a massage. The NYE event the resort held was so fun, lovely to see how involved the resort is with the broader community on the island.

The outdoor bath took too long to fill so we gave up, and the hot water doesn't get that hot. Fine for the shower but will make for a cold bath by the time it fills. The breakfast pastries are a little stale but there's such great other choices so no big deal for me. Why go to Thailand to eat croissants!

We spent wonderful time in this resort, they pay attention to every detail. Our villa was amazing, had all what we need, clean. The staff is soo helpful. We’ve only stayed for 3 nights but it’s a great place to spend time away from the noise and just relax the whole time. Loved it!

Very nice location and super friendly staff

They were so helpful when we left a watch behind they found it and sent it to the next island. We also had the best steamed snapper ever.

Everything was amazing. The hotel and its surroundings are beautiful, the pool villas are amazing with beautiful views over the sea. It felt like a little paradise on earth. The location is very nice, remote, quiet, yet not too far from a little village with everything you’d need. Breakfast, the restaurant and the beach bar were very good! Sunset at the beach bar is a must. Massages were also very good! What made this hotel so special was the staff. They pay great attention to details from arrival to check out and are extremely friendly and helpful. They helped us arrange transfers from and to the pier, rent scooters for the day (brought directly to the hotel), organise a private day trip and more. When we had a little incident during our day trip, they were extremely responsive and helped us find solutions. Special mention to Sui and Nui who were absolutely lovely and of great help. This was our favorite stay of our honeymoon so far and we’d definitely recommend staying there!

Everything was great. Staff is excellent and very helpful. It was one of the most relaxing stay in Thailand.

Just needs little renovation. Everything is clean but some places looks a bit tired.

Everything. We enjoyed the room with the private pool, the room itself and the view. The beach. The outdoor bathroom. The view from the bed. The staff is friendly, they smile even with their eyes, especially the manager Agnes and the cleaning ladies are wonderful. There is not that much to do around but that was what we were looking for after traveling 3 month in Southeast Asia. The restaurant is good, not typical Thai spicy like in some local restaurants, but really tasty. Some parts in the room and the terrace looked a bit old, like the tiles in the private pool or some of the furniture but it was perfectly clean and this spring they will do some renovations. So if you are looking for some relaxing days on the beach with only friendly people around you - stay in this place! We really would love to go there again

We thought this resort was lovely. The staff are warm and friendly and obviously care that guests have a positive experience. I would definitely recommend the waterfront villas with small pool. Late night swims while watching thunderstorms was a highlight. The villa is well laid out with a wonderful outside shower and bath and the bed very comfortable. The beach is beautiful at high tide but not really usable at low due to the reef. There is a delightful cocktail bar which is the perfect spot to watch sunsets. We thought the restaurant was excellent although breakfast is a bit bland as it seems to be in this part of Thailand. Other meals were fabulous. This is a resort catering for foreign tourists so don’t expect local Thai prices, but still reasonable we felt. Overall, a lovely experience and thank you to the staff for making it so.

Get rid of the jet skis Maybe not look too closely at the pool as it is probably in need of a spruce up, but we understand that is about to happen.

The hotel is wonderfully located if you’re looking for a quiet, calm beach and getaway. The beach is very empty and with gorgeous scenery. The restaurant (also where breakfast is served) has view directly to the beach. There is a bar next to it that offers a comfortable and chill area to start off your evening. If you’re lucky enough to meet Agnes, the manager of the restaurants, she is a hospitable, welcoming and always smiling woman that will help you and resolve anything you need. The hotel is lucky to have her. The room is very comfortable with a big bed and an outside shower that is perfect for a vacation like this one. The massage was also really good and not expensive compared to massages in Europe.

The hotel lacks a bit of maintenance and there are small details that need to be fixed. The staff is not aware of what the activities offer and therefore they might tell you that you’re activities include things that are actually not included. The pool is regular, but the beach is so nice it compensates. The beach has long hours of low tide where you can not enter the sea at all, something important to be aware of. There are also lots of sea urchins to be careful with.

It’s an absolute paradise, fine sand on the beach, comfortable and private villas, breakfast is good enough and they make effort to vary the choice everyday. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We loved it.

Amazing place, loved the people and the location. The beach is amazing apart that depends a lot on the tide and there are sea urchins. Apart for that INCREDIBLE.We did the upgrade with the swimming pool and is super worth it!!! The manager Agnes is lovely and so helpful.

It was a world away from the busy resorts of Phuket and Krabi. The resort is beautiful and the room was divine. With an outside bath and shower and a terrace overlooking the palm trees and down to the ocean. All the staff were attentive and so friendly. I would love to return one day.

I loved it all but was there to get away from the busy world.

We had very good time during our stay in Glow elixir resort. The staff were very polite and always ready to help. Breakfast was really delicious as well as the whole restaurant at the territory. There are also couple restaurants close to the hotel. We took speed boat from Bang rong pier in Phucket and then taxi (300 baht per person).

Unfortunately we stayed during rain season and because of that there was trash in the sea.
